Beck's Music Box :: Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu

Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu

A former member of Yothu Yindi and now with Saltwater Band, ARIA-award winner singer–songwriter Gurrumul’s debut solo album was acclaimed by The Sydney Morning Herald as ‘the greatest voice this continent has ever recorded’.

Singing powerful songs in his native Yolgnu, Gurrumul blends folk, gospel and roots with traditional songs from north-east Arnhem Land.

Joined on stage by his band featuring acoustic guitar, double bass and violin, Gurrumul’s beautiful voice and gifted musicianship make this intimate concert an unmissable event.

Winner of four NT Idigenous Music Awards

By arrangement with Arts Projects Australia

So angelic is Gurrumul’s … singing that it evokes vocalists of the calibre of New York’s Antony Hegarty and New Orleans’ Aaron Neville
