Beck's Music Box :: House of the Holy Afro

House of the Holy Afro

An audacious fusion of the urban and traditional, gospel and house, slam poetry and Afro-pop, House of the Holy Afro promises an explosive night of driving rhythms, soaring harmonies and outlandishly irreverent kitsch.

This exuberant nightclub spectacular directed by Brett Bailey unites South Africa’s hottest acts – the all-African dance theatre troupe Third World Bunfight, performance poet Odidi Mfenyana and DJ Dino Moran – for a provocative and riotous house party.

Body-moving beats merge with songs from ancient shamanistic ceremonies and the uplifting gospel of township churches while hypnotic singing gives way to uninhibited high-energy dancing – you’ll be on your feet shaking your stuff.
