Friends of the Festival

About the Friends

The Friends of the Festival began in 1976 and have been avid supporters of the Perth Festival for over 30 years.

Friends show their support for the Festival by going to as many shows as possible and by being advocates for the Festival in the community. They meet other members at events organised by the Friends and the Festival and enjoy opportunities to meet visiting artists or learn about upcoming shows.

The Friends of the Festival have developed a series called Festival in Focus, to offer members an insight into the Festival program. These events are held regularly before the Festival begins and are designed to help people get the most out of their Festival.

The Lotterywest Festival Films held in the Somerville auditorium on the University of Western Australia campus will again be a great meeting place for Friends, offering an excellent opportunity to picnic and then enjoy films from around the world with each other.

Friends are proud to support the Artist Talk series, giving people the chance to meet the artists, directors and producers behind the shows.
