Mark Dapin has worked on almost every significant Australian men's magazine, from Penthouse to The Australian Financial Review Magazine. From 1988 to 2002 he was editor and then editor-in-chief of Ralph magazine, the bestselling lifestyle title for men in Australia towards the end of this period. At Ralph, Mark formulated the Ten Rules of Magazine Publishing, the most important being never name your magazine after a bodily function. This was Ralph's great mistake, setting back its advertising sales by about five years.

Mark Dapin currently works as a features writer for Good Weekend. He has degrees in Social Science and Journalism and is a part-time lecturer in Media Studies at Sydney University. He has taught journalism at Macleay College, Sydney, given seminars at ACP and Morrison Media and guest lectured at Melbourne University and Wandsworth Comprehensive School, London.
